CARLISLE COUNTY, Ky. -- Officials arrested a man on Wednesday who they say was inappropriately messaging his former girlfriend through improper channels.

According to the Carlisle County Sheriff's Office, Terrell Stacey Harper surrendered peacefully into custody on Wednesday around 5:30 p.m. The sheriff's office says it learned that Harper reportedly posed as a parent of a student in his ex-girlfriend's class on Friday, Aug. 2.

Deputies say Harper and his ex both worked for the Carlisle County School District. Harper allegedly used the district's student/teacher/parent communication app, Class Dojo, to create a fake profile posing as a parent to message his ex.

Chief Deputy Green with the sheriff's office investigated the situation and says Harper used his real name but a fake student name. The email used to create the account was reportedly connected to Harper.

Deputies say this is not the first time Harper has inappropriately reached out to his ex. The office's report details several other instances of unwanted mail and messages delivered to her house and social accounts. Harper also reportedly created fake accounts posing as his ex on several dating apps.

Chief Deputy Green obtained a warrant for Harper's arrest in partnership with the Carlisle County Attorney and Commonwealth Attorney. According to the sheriff's office, he faces the following charges:

  • Harassing Communications, Misdemeanor
  • Forgery, 2nd Degree, Class D Felony

Harper reportedly served previous jail time between 2011 and 2014 for four occasions of Kentucky EPO/DVO.

The Carlisle County School District, McCracken County Public Schools, McCracken County Public Schools Resource Officers and the McCracken County Sheriff's Office all helped the county's sheriff's office in the investigation.

The investigation remains ongoing. Harper remains innocent until deemed guilty in court.
