GRAVES COUNTY, Ky. -- Deputies arrested a man in response to a car crash on Friday.Â
The Graves County Sheriff's Office sent officials to a crash around KY 80 and Central Road on June 7. Two cars had crashed, but no injuries were reported.Â
Investigators learned that Brendan Ellegood, 26, of Mayfield, rear-ended a car while driving northbound on Central Road. The vehicle he rear-ended was reportedly sitting at the stop sign at the KY 80 intersection.Â
According to authorities, Ellegood said he did not see the car before the crash. Deputy Chad Hall with the sheriff's office said he smelled marijuana inside Ellegood's car.Â
Hall and assisting deputies searched the car, confirming marijuana was present and finding cocaine. Officials arrested Ellegood for DUI and Possession of Controlled Substance charges.Â
Authorities sent Ellegood to the Graves County RC Center, which sent him to an out-of-county facility.Â
