...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/ THIS
EVENING...

* WHAT...Peak heat index values of 100 to 105.

* WHERE...All of southern Illinois, southwest Indiana, western
Kentucky, and southeast Missouri.

* WHEN...Until 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/ this evening.

* IMPACTS...Prolonged hot temperatures and high humidity may
cause heat illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out
of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early
morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat
exhaustion and heat stroke.

Identity of victim and suspect revealed in officer-involved shooting

POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. -- Butler County Coroner Jim Akers has revealed the identity of the victim and suspect in Wednesday's officer-involved shooting. 

According to Akers, Paul Wilhite, 61, of Brinkley, Arkansas, died in the shooting. Wilhite is said to be the prime suspect in the shooting. 

The shooting occurred at the Camelot RV Park along US 67. As previously reported, Akers said no officers were harmed in the situation.
