MAYFIELD, Ky. -- A murder suspect from Tennessee was arrested in Western Kentucky on Monday.

The Graves County Sheriff’s Office, along with other law enforcement agencies, responded to a home on Foster Street in Mayfield on the morning of February 5.

Jeremiah Lamonte Davis, 19 of Dyersburg, Tennessee, was found at an address in that area.

Davis was wanted out of Dyersburg, Tennessee for a first-degree murder charge.

As law enforcement surrounded the home, the sheriff’s office said Davis broke out a window and tried to flee the area.

Davis was then caught by a canine from the United States Marshal’s Service and then taken into custody.

After medical cleared, Davis was taken to the Graves County RC Center and later taken to an out-of-county jail facility.

Davis is now awaiting extradition back to Dyer County, Tennessee, for the murder charge.

Assisting the Graves County Sheriff’s Office was the Mayfield Police Department, the Kentucky State Police, the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office and the United States Marshal’s Service and Mayfield / Graves County EMS.
