KSP confirms two dead after crash on U.S. 60 in Crittenden County

UPDATE 6:23 P.M.

CRITTENDEN COUNTY, Ky. (WSIL) --- Kentucky State Police have confirmed the deaths of two people after a crash in western Kentucky Saturday night.

The crash happened on U.S. 60 near KY 297 between Marion and Salem around 5:30 p.m. A spokesperson with KSP says three vehicles were involved and two people died at the scene.

The spokesperson said that crash reconstruction investigators are on scene and both lanes of U.S. 60 are closed with estimated opening between 8:30 p.m. and 10 p.m.

KSP advises drivers to use alternate routes.

PADUCAH, Ky. -- U.S. 60 is closed due to a traffic crash west of Marion near Mile Marker 5 in Crittenden County. 

The crash occurred on U.S. 60 between Marion and Salem, East of the KY 297 and Moore Hill intersection. The road is expected to close until 6:00 p.m.

Officials recommend drivers detour onto KY 1668/Crittenden Springs Road to KY 2123/Glendale Church Road and KY  297 back to U.S. 60 to avoid the traffic site. Trucks are asked to take U.S. 641, U.S. 62 and I-24.Â
