...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/
FRIDAY...

* WHAT...Heat index values up to 106.

* WHERE...All of southern Illinois, southwest Indiana, western
Kentucky, and southeast Missouri.

* WHEN...Until 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/ Friday.

* IMPACTS...Prolonged exposure to hot temperatures and high humidity
may cause heat illnesses.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The first prolonged stretch of heat and
humidity of the season will amplify health impacts. Health impacts
will build with each successive day in the heat and humidity.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.

HARRISBURG, Ill. (WSIL) --聽State Senator Dale Fowler is bringing back the Valentines for Seniors Card Drive again this year.

Fowler is asking people from the community to make special Valentine's Day cards for our local seniors. He said聽it's only possible through the generosity and love of the community.

"I just want to tell the community thank you," said Fowler. "Thank you for doing your part in making sure your senior citizens, nursing home and assisted living know they are not forgotten, that they are loved and that you are doing your part to put a smile on their face," said Fowler.
