SESSER, Ill. -- A local fire organization has come together to help one of its own during a time of need.

The Sesser Fire Protection District has planned a fish fry on Friday night to raise money for a local boy, Luke, who recently received a Leukemia diagnosis.

Luke has been admitted into the Children's Hospital in Phoenix, AZ for treatment and could transfer to the Ronald McDonald House following this. As expected, Luke's family is facing a high amount of bills during this time.

The fish fry will be held at the Sesser Fire Station from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 30. A $12 dinner plate includes two pieces of fish, coleslaw, baked beans and dessert. Children's plates are $6.

The Bear Point church in Sesser has also said money given to the church during Sunday's service will go to Luke's family.
