SIH to host event for freshmen SIU Carbondale medical students on Thursday

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- SIH will host freshmen medical students from SIU Carbondale at the Carbondale Civic Center on Thursday. 

Around 100 students will join the event hosted by 50 doctors. According to a release from SIH on the event, the "scavenger-hunt style" question session will allow participants to have personal conversations with the doctors. 

The participating medical professionals span from 20 specialties. These include pediatrics, family medicine, cardiology, surgical oncology, oncology, urology, pulmonology, general surgery, bariatric surgery, trauma surgery, infectious disease, urology, orthopedics, hospitalists, emergency, obstetrics/gynecology, anesthesiology, behavioral health, sleep medicine, neurology and more.

SIH hopes the program will give students more information to determine which path they wish to study for their residencies.
