CARBONDALE, Ill. -- The SIU Small Business Development Center received statewide recognition on Thursday.
The center works to help new locally owned businesses launch or expand its services. The award, by extension, honors the businesses represented by the funds.
"We're honored to receive this recognition and grateful for the trust of our small-business community," said the center on . "Thank you to everyone who has supported us along the way."
US Small Business Administration Illinois District Director, Wilette LeGrant, presented the award to SIU's chapter alongside the Illinois SBDC State Director, Ericka White.
The award ceremony coincided with this year's National Small Business Week.Â
