MOUNT VERNON, Ill. -- A public transportation service temporarily shut down operations in Jefferson County after storm damage Thursday evening.
The South Central Transit announced all services are suspended in Mount Vernon and Jefferson County as of 10:15 p.m. on March 14, after the bus facilities and offices were damaged.
Photos of the facility show a large section of the building's roof were blown off and debris scattered across the area.
South Central Transit serves Washington County, Marion County, Jefferson County, Clinton County, Franklin County and Perry County.
