CARTERVILLE Ill. (WSIL) -- Hazy and warm weather will stick around Wednesday. High temperatures will rise another couple of degrees, climbing up near 90 degrees. It will be the last completely dry day, before the anticipated rain begins to move in.
All eyes are on Francine in the western Gulf of Mexico. Tropical Storm Francine is expected to intensify, reaching hurricane strength before making landfall Wednesday afternoon. The remnants of Francine will then track north through our region, bringing much needed rainfall.Â

The outer rain bands will move in from the south on Thursday afternoon. Widespread rainfall will stick around overnight Thursday and through Friday. There is some uncertainty by the weekend, but showers could linger into Saturday and Sunday.Â
Overall rainfall amounts will range from 1-3" through our northern counties, to 2-4" in the south.
