NEW MADRID, MO (WSIL) -- The WSIL sports team was in New Madrid and Portageville, Missouri Friday night.
East Prairie rallies past their rival New Madrid County Central 41-27. The East Prairie Eagles trailed 20-13 at the half, would tie it at 27 in the third quarter and eventually pull ahead. East Prairie stuck with their running game, capitalized on some key mistakes by NMCC and that was the difference. In the loss Kenyon King had 3 touchdowns for the Eagles. Both teams are 1-1 on the season.
Hayti blanks Portageville 58-0. They led 50-0 at the half and improve to 2-0. Portageville falls to 0-2. Big plays allowed Hayti to score quickly and often in this one. Indians got this things going on a 51 yard touchdown pass from Trayvon Thomas to Elijah Burnett. Thomas finds Treavion Barber, who eludes plenty of Bulldog tacklers for a 55 score right before the half.
