...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/
FRIDAY...

* WHAT...Daily heat index values of 100 to 107.

* WHERE...Portions of southern Illinois, southwest Indiana, western
Kentucky, and southeast Missouri.

* WHEN...Until 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/ Friday.

* IMPACTS...Prolonged exposure to hot temperatures and high humidity
may cause heat illnesses.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The first prolonged stretch of heat and
humidity of the season will amplify health impacts. Health impacts
will build with each successive day in the heat and humidity.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.

Stone Labanowitz was key in SIU’s late season run

CARBONDALE (WSIL) -- A late season run by SIU Football, has a community buzzing for more. First playoff appearance since 2009.

Following Sunday night's 31-26 loss at South Dakota State, Saluki fans will now have to wait until the fall to see their team play.

219,000 people tuned in for that late Sunday broadcast. It was a season to remember.

It was Quarterback Stone Labanowitz that caught the attention of the media this season.

He went from third sting QB to hero, completed 72 percent of his passes this season with 8 touchdowns.

Labanowitz was a soundbyte delight, the media couldn't get enough and his play on the field backed it up. Labanowitz led a school-record 807 yards of total offense against Southeastern Louisiana

Stone threw the game winning Touchdown in the games final minute against Weber State and put SIU in a position to win in the closing moments at South Dakota State. Labanowitz certainly got his head coach's attention.
