CARTERVILLE, IL (WSIL) - Saturday marked the end of the Saluki Takeover Tour.Â
This event aimed to bring in students from around the region. These future Salukis could one day help the athletics department.

New Head Basketball Coach Scott Nagy made his second public appearance at Saturday's event with players on the roster.
The Saluki Takeover Tour was Nagy's chance to meet new Salukis and other notable faces. He also pitched to Saluki alums, boosters and backers that his program needs all the NIL money it can get.
Nagy says one of the selling points for him to take the job as the head man for the Dawgs was because of the people who help make our region so special.
"A big reason why I came here is the interest these people have in Southern Illinois basketball and how excited they are about it," Nagy said. "We are excited to give them a [winning season]."
