CARTERVILLE Ill. (WSIL) -- Tonight: Clear and cold tonight as temperatures will hit back below freezing across our area. NO precipitation is expected until early next week.Â
Sunday: Waking up in the mid 20s across our area so definitely chilly. You will want those heavy jackets again as tomorrow will be a cold day. Highs barely getting out of the 30s and partly cloudy conditions expected.Â
Monday and Tuesday: Clouds increase on Monday and while a few isolated showers cant be ruled out, I expect things to remain fairly dry for everyone. Temperatures will slowly climb into the lower 50s on Monday and then near 60 on Tuesday. Tuesday is when all the action happens as our next weather system approaches.Â
Expect a cloudy and stormy day on Tuesday. Periods of heavy rain and some storms will move across the area. A potent cold front moving through our region with tons of wind energy. The chance is there for some severe weather as well. Damaging straight line winds and hail would have to be what we watch for. Some isolated tornado activity is also possible.Â
