CARTERVILLE, Ill. (WSIL) � All eyes are on the weather this evening as a system is pushing through our region.
In the next several hours, a line of severe storms will be pushing through southeast Missouri and into Illinois.
A Tornado Watch has been issued for southeast Missouri, parts of southern Illinois and a portion of western Kentucky until 11 p.m. tonight.

The most severe risk is to the west of our region, however, parts of southeast Missouri and southern Illinois have a slight and marginal risk tonight.
Most of southeast Missouri is in the Level 2 Slight risk, with the exception of Mississippi County, and parts of New Madrid, Scott and Pemiscot Counties. Randolph County, Illinois, is also included in this Slight risk, along with the eastern portion of Jackson, Perry and Washington Counties.
The central and western counties in southern Illinois are in a Level 1 Marginal risk for severe weather. This does not include the eastern half of Gallatin, White and Hardin Counties.
Strong to severe storms are expected to hit southeast Missouri this evening. The storms are predicted to arrive between 6 and 9 p.m. in the western portion of southeast Missouri, 8 p.m. - 11 p.m. in the western portion of southern Illinois and the eastern portion of southeast Missouri, and between 11 p.m. - 3 p.m. for the eastern portion of southern Illinois and western Kentucky.
The storms are anticipated to weaken as they move eastward during the night. As a result, the severe threat should diminish considerably.
The primary risks include the possibility of a tornado or two, hail up to one inch in diameter and wind gusts reaching 60 mph.
After the storms exit our region, temps will dip down into the mid to high 50s overnight with sustained winds of around 10 mph.
On Monday, when you wake up, temps will start out in the upper 50s with partly cloudy conditions and winds will continue at around 10 mph. As we move through the daytime, temperatures will climb into the lower 70s as highs and clouds start moving out. We should see sunny skies by the late afternoon and early evening.
