Winds will dissipate for the most part overnight but will pick back up on Friday morning.
CARTERVILLE, Ill. (WSIL) --During the evening hours, temperatures will slowly decline and reach the lower 40s by 10 p.m. for the southern Illinois area. As we dip into the nighttime hours, the winds will also slow and precipitation chances will be close to nil.
Clear skies are expected overnight with temperatures dipping down into the 30s. As you wake up on Friday morning, sunny skies are expected and the winds start to pick back up. By midday, temps reach into the lower 60s and winds pick up out of the southwest, expected to reach more than 20 mph.
Some areas may creep up to the 70 degree mark. Certainly this has been a Springtime weather pattern this week, however, weekend temps are expected to dip down into the 40s as highs before we heat back up next week.
