...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/
FRIDAY...

* WHAT...Daily heat index values of 100 to 107.

* WHERE...Portions of southern Illinois, southwest Indiana, western
Kentucky, and southeast Missouri.

* WHEN...Until 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/ Friday.

* IMPACTS...Prolonged exposure to hot temperatures and high humidity
may cause heat illnesses.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The first prolonged stretch of heat and
humidity of the season will amplify health impacts. Health impacts
will build with each successive day in the heat and humidity.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.

CARTERVILLE, Ill. (WSIL) -- Remember those umbrellas you had by your side for nearly the last two weeks? Put them away! We have some beautiful weather on tap for the next couple of days.

This morning, we are waking up to mid 50s with winds at around 5 mph. However, it will heat up and the clouds will move out for a beautiful day ahead.

For the early afternoon, we will see sunny skies with upper 60s as highs and a little bit of wind at around 10-12 mph at times.

Tonight will be clear with temps falling into the 50s with winds calming down to a gently breeze.

This weekend looks beautiful! Tomorrow we are looking at partly cloudy conditions with temps in the lower 70s.

For Sunday, partly to mostly cloudy skies with temps climbing a little higher in the upper 70s with some areas reaching into the 80s.
