WSIL -- Happy Thanksgiving! Gloomy skies to begin the day and sunshine could be slow to arrive this afternoon. Temperatures this morning are in the upper 40s, so if you're heading out to fry or smoke a turkey early, you'll likely need a jacket.

Skies will gradually clear from the west later this afternoon. Southeast Missouri will see the highest amount of sunshine while southern Illinois and western Kentucky may not see much sun until late afternoon. If dining outside, temperatures will be fairly close to average for late November, in the lower 50s, and the wind will be light.

Rain is back in the forecast by the end of the weekend and the first few snowflakes of the season are possible by early next week! Meteorologist Nick Hausen talks about our snow chances on News 3 This Morning! We've got you covered!
