...DENSE FOG ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 AM CDT THIS MORNING...

* WHAT...Visibility one quarter of a mile or less in dense fog.

* WHERE...All of southeast Missouri, most of southern Illinois and
McCracken and Ballard Counties in western Kentucky.

* WHEN...Until 8 AM CDT this morning.

* IMPACTS...Low visibility could make driving conditions hazardous.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If driving, slow down, use your headlights, and leave plenty of
distance ahead of you.

...Locally Dense Fog Is Expected to Develop Across Much of the
Quad State Tonight into Early Tuesday Morning...

Some patchy fog has already developed in a few locations late
this evening with a some areas seeing locally dense fog at times.
The dense fog will result in visibilities briefly dropping as low
as one-quarter mile at times.

If traveling late tonight into Tuesday morning, please remember
to slow down, use your low-beam headlights and allow extra time
to reach your destination.

(WSIL) The run of near record warmth will come to an end Tuesday afternoon. A strong cold front will open the door for more seasonable temperatures to return to the region. There is a high chance of rain showers associated with the front but overall rain totals will likely be small for most of us. Strong gusty winds from the south will keep leaves on the move and field fire danger up.

Cooler air, more typical for this time of the year will be with us for the rest of the week. I will have the latest forecast updates on News 3 this evening.
