The Southern 7 Health Department will host their Wellness on Wheels (WOW) Van clinics across the area during the month of February.

(WSIL) -- The Southern Seven Health Department will close their COVID-19 waiting list.

They say the increase in vaccine shipments and help from the Illinois National Guard means more people can get vaccinated more quickly.

Starting Friday evening, they say you can schedule your vaccine appointment through the Illinois Department of Public Health's online registration system.

You'll have to answer a questionnaire to find out if you're eligible for an appointment.

"If you're still on that wait list, if your information has been submitted, we're still going to call you and get you scheduled for those appointments. It's not like your information is disappearing, but we have to start that process where we transition to folks scheduling themselves," said Outreach Coordinator, Nathan Ryder.

Now that the state's online scheduling system is open, the department will also start scheduling those who qualify under Phase 1B+.
