CARBONDALE, Ill. (WSIL) -- Two were arrested in connection to a shooting investigation in Carbondale. Authorities said a juvenile was also sent to the hospital with a gunshot wound from the incident.

The Carbondale Police Department said on March 1, at 9:52 p.m., officers responded to a shots fired report in the area of North Springer and West High Streets.

Officers reported there were multiple buildings which were hit by gunfire. It was also reported a dark sedan left the area after the gunfire took place.

Minutes later, at 10:16 p.m., police said they learned there was a juvenile who was at the Memorial Hospital of Carbondale with a gunshot wound, which was suspected to be non-life threatening.

Police said they then figured out the vehicle he was in when he was shot at.

The Williamson County Sheriff's Office later found the vehicle in Carterville,  along with the driver of the vehicle during the time the shooting happened, police stated. The driver was identified as Tyler Grob, 18 of Carterville, police added.

Grob was then arrested. Police said he was charged with Obstructing Justice and taken to the Jackson County Jail.

Police in Carbondale added their investigation led them to find a juvenile male in Grob's vehicle during which the incident took place. Police said the juvenile shot a gun at some unknown people in the area of North Springer and West High Streets. Other people then returned fire, at which time a juvenile male (the juvenile previously mentioned at the hospital) was shot at and hit.

Officers then served an arrest warrant for the juvenile they say shot a gun out of the vehicle. The warrant was for an Aggravated Unlawful Use of Weapons charge.

Police said the juvenile was later found in DeSoto and arrested on the morning of March 2. He was then taken to a juvenile detention center.

The investigation is active and ongoing.
