Two in custody, face multiple charges related to shooting investigation in Carbondale

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Police are following up on an investigation where two people were reportedly shot in the 600-block of North Robert A. Stalls on February 25.

Police said one of the suspects was identified as a 16-year-old male from Carbondale.

Days later, on February 28, arrest warrants were issued for the 16-year-old for two counts of aggravated battery with a firearm and aggravated discharge of a firearm.

The 16-year-old was then arrested and taken into custody. He was taken to the Juvenile Detention Center.

On March 1, another male juvenile suspect was arrested on an active warrant for aggravated discharge of a firearm and aggravated battery with a firearm.

This second suspect was taken into custody at the Carbondale Police Department.

The investigation is active and ongoing with more arrests possible.
