CARBONDALE, Ill. -- A local athletic director was gifted some money which will help with meals for student athletes throughout the school year.
The City of Carbondale Fire Department said the Carbondale Firefighters Local 1961 handed over a $1,000 check to the Carbondale Community High School's Athletic Director Gwen Poore recently.
The money is said to help with meals during any traveling the students take when going to away games during the school year.
