Semi catches fire on I-55, crews respond

Semi-tuck fire

HAYTI, Mo. (WSIL) -- Fire crews responded to the scene on I-55 in Pemiscot County after a semi-truck caught fire on Friday afternoon.

A viewer captured video of the fire which shows flames coming from the engine area of the semi-truck while parked on the shoulder of the road near the 19 mile marker in the northbound lanes.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said fire crews responded to the fire and the northbound lane were closed for a short period of time.

It is unknown the cause of the fire at this time.
