Two injured after vehicle hits abandoned trailer in roadway

BUTLER COUNTY, Mo. -- A 20-year-old was air lifted to a hospital and another injured after the vehicle they were in hit an abandoned trailer in the road on Tuesday.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said it happened at 7:43 p.m. when two people were traveling along US 60 about a mile west of Fisk when a 2017 Ford Escape crashed into an abondoned trailer and then went off the roadway, coming to rest in the median.

The 20-year-old driver was air lifted to Region One Health in Memphis for serious injuries. A 22-year-old passenger was taken to the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center for moderate injuries.

The car was totalled due to the crash.
