...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/
FRIDAY...

* WHAT...Peak daily heat index values up to around 105 degrees.

* WHERE...All of southern Illinois, southwest Indiana, western
Kentucky, and southeast Missouri.

* WHEN...Until 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/ Friday.

* IMPACTS...Prolonged hot temperatures and high humidity may
cause heat illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out
of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early
morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat
exhaustion and heat stroke.

Road closure in Cape Girardeau expected to last several days at the end of June

Portion of Bloomfield Road expected to close for bridge maintenance

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (WSIL) � The Missouri Department of Transportation says a portion of Bloomfield Road. will close for several days for bridge maintenance. 

The closure is expected from Monday, June 23rd, through Thursday, June 26th. 

MoDOT says the closure will be from South Mount Auburn Road to Siemers Drive.

Officials say there will be signage to mark the work zone, but drivers are still asked to use extreme caution.
