POPE COUNTY, Ill. -- The missing 80-year-old man in Pope County has been located.Â
The endangered missing advisory report/LEAP alert, declaring Jerry Harris missing, was cancelled at 4:33 p.m. on Thursday. The alert said Mr. Harris was located.
The alert was initially activated by the Illinois State Police at the request of the Pope County Sheriff's Department on Monday.
Moments before the alert was canceled on Thursday, Pope County Sheriff Jerry Suits confirmed to WSIL that a body was found. He said the body was taken to the coroner's office.
Authorities haven't confirmed the body found was that of Mr. Harris at this time.
Harris first went missing Monday and multiple search agencies have been searching for him since.
