Blandville Road Crash

UPDATE -- 6:45 a.m. -- A woman was hospitalized in a crash that shut down Blandville Road in McCracken County for over two hours on Thursday morning.

According to the McCracken County Sheriff's Office, Amanda Selph, of Kevil, KY, crashed her GMC Yukon in the westward direction around 1:45 a.m. on Thursday, July 25. Officials believe Selph lost control of the car, drove off the road and ran into the wooden poles holding the railroad overpass on Blandville.

Authorities say Selph's GMC required the jaws of life to get her out of the car.

Officials reportedly brought Selph to a local hospital but expect her to get transferred out of state, saying her injuries are severe.

Information from the sheriff's office says Blandville Road remained closed between McCracken Boulevard and Childress Road for about two and a half hours. The Canadian National Railroad officials say the road will have to undergo another two to four hour closure in the near future for overpass repairs.

The Concord and West McCracken Fire Departments, the Mercy Ambulance, the McCracken County D.E.S., Stovesand's Wrecker Service and a bystander who called officials were thanked by McCracken County officials for their help in the situation.
