DU QUOIN, Ill. (WSIL) � Two boil water orders were issued to customers in Du Quoin recently.
On May 24, the city stated a boil water order was issued for the areas on N. Illinois, Main-Park and Ballantine and Poplar-Park.
Additionally, on May 23, the city stated a boil water order was issued for customers on E. Park from Leonard to Old DQ Rd., Pawnee, Pawnee Place, Delaware, Seminole, Chippewa, Davis Creek Lane, Davisville Rd, Cowboy Way, Lonesome Dove, Twin Oaks and the 800 & 900 block of E Cole.
The CDC recommends bringing water to a full rolling boil for one minute, or three minutes at elevations above 6,500 feet. Then allow the water to cool before using it.
When washing hands with tap water during a boil water order, it's recommended to use soap and water, then using alcohol-based hand sanitizer and let them air dry.
