ANNA (WSIL) -- The weather was just right for a little shopping and socializing in downtown Anna Saturday afternoon, where dozens were out enjoying Union County's annual Colorfest.
Organizers say Colorfest is a tradition dating back many years in the county as a way to bring people together while supporting local businesses.
Shops remained opened longer, keeping folks downtown for special vendors and activities also going on inside the shops.
Organizer Kathy Bryan, of Kiki's Coffeehouse says Anna has a lot to offer, and this year the community "felt it was important" to hold Colorfest as it offers a way to bring locals and visitors to the county.
"Local people in Union County, people from outside Union County, just to come down, our leaves are starting to change, they're starting to get a little color, come downtown, shop, we have lots of new businesses and we've been growing quite a bit," says Bryan. "We really want to emphasize that, for people to see, we have a booming downtown."
After shopping, she says visitors can get out and explore the rest of Union County where there is a lot to see and do.
