SCHAUMBURG (WSIL) After heading into the weekend series in Schaumburg winning their past eight games, the Southern Illinois Miners closed out the road trip getting swept by the Boomers, falling 5-4 Sunday.
The Miners led 3-1 in eighth inning, but due to shaky pitching and a few questionable calls led to a four run swing by the Boomers in the bottom half of the inning.
Miners fall to 22-15 on the season, they return to Rent One Park Tuesday to face the Windy City ThunderBolts.
