CARTERVILLE Ill. (WSIL) -- It has been a breezy but mild afternoon. The brief warm-up is quickly coming to an end. A cold front will move through overnight, and the cold air is expected to funnel right back into the region.Â
By Thursday morning, lows will drop back down near 20 degrees. High temperatures will plummet back to near 20 degrees below average, only topping out near 30 degrees. It will also be breezy, with winds gusts near 20 mph. Be sure to bundle up!
The cold will stick around Friday, lows will be in the teens. Highs will start to increase, but won't make it back up near average. High temperatures will top out in the mid to upper 30s.
Even though it will be cold, it will be a quiet couple of days. Sunshine is expected both Thursday and Friday. Our next chance for rain doesn't arrive until the weekend.Â
