December 23rd Evening Weather with Meteorologist Jacie Brianne
CARTERVILLE Ill. (WSIL) -- It has been a cloudy and relatively warm afternoon. A few scattered showers have also began popping up. The off and on light rain will continue overnight and into Christmas Eve. However, it won't be a washout.

The theme for the entire week will be warm temperatures, with scattered shower chances nearly every day. Showers will be isolated through much of Tuesday, before becoming more widespread during the late afternoon and evening. That rain will then stick around into Christmas day.Â
Again it won't be a washout and shouldn't cause too many issues on the road, but you may have to turn on the windshield wipers for local travel. A brief break from the rain returns Thursday, with another round expected Friday and into Saturday. A few rumbles of thunder will be possible by the end of the week.Â
Rainfall totals by the end of the week range between three quarters of inch north to an inch and a half south with isolated higher amounts.
Temperatures will be very warm, staying above average all week. Highs will continue in the upper 40s Tuesday, followed by 50s on Christmas Day. It doesn't stop there, by the weekend it will be near 60 degrees.Â
Looks like Santa will need to lose the heavy coat while delivering presents!Â
